Tilt Shift

Tilt Shit - Creating the "Toy Town" effect

The Tilt Shift is normally created using a special Tilt Shift Lens, but as they can be very expensive, some photographers choose to replicate the effect on Photoshop.

To change the focusing of the image:
- Open the desired image in Photoshop
- Enable quick mask mode (Press Q on a Mac)
- Enable the Gradient tool (Press G on Mac)
- At the top of the screen, select the Reflected Gradient and select   the part of your image you still want to be in focus.
- Turn off the Quick Mask mode (press Q on Mac), and your gradient     will disappear, and two selection boxes on either side of it will   appear.
- Open the Filter drop down menu, go to Blur, and select Lens Blur.
- Adjust the Radius until you achieve the desired look and then       click okay.
- Deselect your selections (Press CMD and D on a Mac)

To change the colouring:
- Open the adjustments drop down menu, got to adjustments and click   on Hue/Saturation
- Increase the Saturation until you get the desired look. This will   make colours look brighter and more vibrant. Then click Okay.
-  Open the adjustments drop down menu, got to adjustments and click   on Curves. Adjust the curve subtly to adjust the contrast of the     image.
